The Mama Hobo is Doug's version of the traditional "hobo" syle shoulder bag.

The Mama Hobo is a simple, expertly crafted purse with two slip pockets on the front, a large zipper pocket on the back, a large inside pocket, and a small slip pocket for your cell phone sewn inside. The two front pockets are separated with a top stitched strip of leather. The zippers are sturdy nylon coil, and the inside pocket is made from the same leather as the exterior of the bag. Heavy duty nylon shoe thread and a solid brass buckle complete the detailing.

The shoulder strap is about 1" wide, 36" long, and adjusts with a solid brass buckle. The Mama Hobo is designed to be carried over your shoulder in the conventional way.

The leather I use for this purse is a soft and sensuous cowhide with a light semi-aniline finish. Semi-aniline means that the leather has been soaked in dye for a deep and durable color and then finished with a top coat of color to give the skin greater uniformity and some resistance to spotting and staining. All leather will stain if something oily or sticky gets on it, but you can take this bag out in the rain with no problems. I recommend periodic use of saddle soap or a good quality leather conditioner to keep your bag looking its best.

As always, this purse is handcrafted in my Asheville, NC workshop. This is a traditional craftsman purse with no fabric lining to rip or wear out. The softly sueded back of the leather itself serves to line the interior.

Colors are Black, Mocha, Black/Brandy, Mocha/Brandy, and Mocha/Buffalo. Brandy is a soft leather embossed with a Western floral pattern, and Buffalo is genuine water buffalo with a deep pebbled grain.
